The idea is simple. Get your balls closer to the white ball than your opponent. How hard can that be?

Boccia is a Paralympic sport with no Olympic equivalent. It is designed specifically for athletes with high support needs. You can throw the balls onto court, kick them or use a ramp. Anything goes.

It’s a game of intriguing tactics and nail biting tension. One ball can change everything.

After watching the sport at London 2012, sportswriter Simon Barnes wrote:

“It’s the heart and soul of the Paralympic Games. Or of all sport. You haven’t seen sport until you’ve seen Boccia.”

Liverpool is a city with unique attractions, exciting events, world class sport offerings, unrivalled musical heritage and famously warm welcomes, Liverpool is the ideal destination to visit and explore.

With the largest collection of museums and galleries anywhere in the UK outside London, Liverpool’s culture and heritage are at the very heart of the city.

You’ll always find a fantastic selection of things to do, places to explore and exciting events.

An incredible venue for an amazing sport. With a hall over eight thousand square metres in size, Boccia’s biggest event just got bigger.

Twelve competition courts including one show court. Spectators will be able to get up close to the action and become part of the game. Your support could be the difference.

In the city centre on the banks of the River Mersey, World Class sport has never been more accessible.
